Town-Hall Meetings on Federal Research Funding Issues


Discussions to Focus on Federal Agency Budgets in Support of Research

The Office of Research is inviting the UCI research community to attend one of two remaining informational town hall-style meetings,wherecurrent issues and their potential impact on the federal funding of research will be discussed. The first meeting—which took place this past Monday—was a great success. If you missed it please consider RSVPing for one of the next two.

The conversation will be led by Vice Chancellor for Research Pramod Khargonekar, who prior to his tenure at UCI was Assistant Director for Engineering at the National Science Foundation and has been involved in discussions with national organizations such as AAU. He will share his insights into the federal budget process, how it might affect various agencies and what it may mean to UCI’s researchers. Joining the discussion will be federal government relations representatives and potentially other experts in this area.
