As a point of clarification, please note that the next IRB submission
deadlines are December 15 for the January 20, 2012 social/behavioral IRB
“C” meeting and January 5, 2012 for the January 27, 2012 biomedical IRB
“A” meeting. For urgent issues involving human research protections
during the Winter Break please send an e-mail to karen.allen@uci.edu.

Dear Colleagues:

The Office of Research (OR) will be closed during the UC Irvine Winter
Break (December 23, 2011 through January 2, 2012). Principal
investigators and department administrators should be mindful of this
closure when planning the submission of proposals with deadlines that
fall between these dates, as well as deadlines in early January 2012.

Should you have any questions regarding funding opportunities with
proposal submission deadlines that fall during the Winter Break, please
contact the Contract and Grant Officer(s) assigned to your unit as soon
as possible:

Additionally, please be reminded of the following committee deadlines
that span the break:

– The next IRB submission deadline is December 15 for the January 20,
2012 meeting.

– The next IACUC submission deadline is December 14 for the January 12,
2012 meeting.*

– The next hSCRO submission deadline is December 22 for the January 05,
2012 meeting.
