KR PD Changes to Support the New Certification for Federal Funding Proposal Reviews

With the upcoming implementation of new Senior/Key Personnel certification questions on August 1^st, you will see some changes in Kuali Research Proposal Development (KR PD) for new and in-progress federal and federal flow-through proposals.

Key Changes

• Email notifications from KR-admin@uci.edu (generated by the proposal Initiator) will go to each Senior/Key Person with a personalized link to their certification questions.  Please note that they must answer the questions by logging in to KR PD through their personalized link. There are no proxies or superuser permissions available to answer on a Senior/Key Person’s behalf.

• Certification questions must be completed before the proposal can be submitted to the institutional review and approval workflow.

• All proposals submitted into the KR PD institutional review workflow must include biographical sketches (and current & pending support if required by the sponsors proposal instructions) in final form.

If any discrepancies between the KR PD certification responses and the biographical sketches (or current & pending support, if required) are identified during the institutional review, the Senior/Key Person and proposal Initiator will be contacted to resolve the discrepancy. After all discrepancies are resolved and the institutional review is complete, the proposal will be submitted to the sponsor.

Research Engagement & Compliance (REC) and Electronic Research Administration (ERA) will hold office hours from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM on 7/19/2023 and 7/26/2023 to help answer your questions and demo how the new process will work in KR PD. Please use this Zoom link at those times to attend the office hours.
