NIH Issues Updated Guide Notice on Changes to Biographical Sketch and Other Support Format

On April 28, 2021, the NIH issued an update to NOT-OD-21-073 to extend the date by which grantees must submit the new Biographical Sketch and Other Support format pages from May 25, 2021 to January 25, 2022.   However, applicants and recipients remain responsible for disclosing all research endeavors.  Therefore, researchers and their support staff should familiarize themselves with the new requirements (see the Foreign Influences webpage, click Research Grant Applications Current or Pending Research Support, then click National Institutes of Health) to ensure compliance with NIH’s Other Support and Biographical Sketch disclosure requirements. 

The Office of Research has formed a short-term workgroup to brainstorm ideas and provide feedback on resources and processes UCI will need to implement to address these requirements.  In addition, the Office of Research is working closely with national organizations like the Council on Governmental Relations to gain as much clarity as possible regarding these requirements and will continue to provide updates and additional clarification to the campus.
