NIH Important Notices

Dear Colleagues:

The NIH Guide Notices below provides important information for faculty, researchers and administrators. Please disseminate this information as appropriate. Questions regarding these notices should be directed to a Contract and Grant Officer in Sponsored Projects.

  • Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Awards (NRSA) Postdoctoral Stipends, Training Related Expenses, Institutional Allowance and Tuition/Fees Effective for Fiscal Year 2017
    (NOT-OD-17-003) National Institutes of Health

All FY 2017 awards previously issued using FY 2016 stipend levels will be revised to adjust stipends to the FY 2017 level. Appointments to institutional training grants that have already been awarded in FY 2017 must be amended to reflect the FY 2017 stipend levels once the training grant award has been adjusted by the NIH. Amended appointments must be submitted through xTrain in the eRA Commons.

  • Revised SF424 (R&R) Application Guides and Supplemental Instructions Available
    (NOT-OD-17-023) National Institutes of Health

This Notice informs the biomedical and health services research communities that NIH has updated its application guide and supplemental instructions. Based on applicant feedback, NIH has made minor changes to the layout and style of its instructions, located on the How to Apply – Application Guide webpage. NIH hopes that these changes will make it easier for applicants to find the information they need.  NIH has also incorporated several clarifications to the current Forms-D instructions.
