*Cayuse 424* Handling Inactive Subaward Budget Periods in Cayuse 424 (NIH)

Dear Colleagues,

 

Please see the guidance below regarding how to handle inactive subaward budget periods in Cayuse 424 for NIH grant proposals. There is contradictory instructions within the most recent NIH guidelines (which was published 11/25/2015); NIH is aware and will be updating the guidelines with the next release.

 

In the meantime, please follow the instructions included in NOT-OD-15-073 on how to handle these situations.

Greetings Cayuse 424 User Community!

 

We recently learned that there are contradictory instructions included in the most recent NIH guidelines (pub 11/25/2015) for handling inactive subaward budget periods on single and MP proposals located on pages I113 and I267 of the guidelines.

 

The correct instructions in the NIH guidelines are located on page I267 under Section 2. “Collaborating Organization as a consortium in an Other Component”.  Despite being located in the Multi-Project Applications section, the instructions are correct for both single and multi-project NIH proposals with inactive subaward budget periods. 

 

NIH is aware of this issue and will update it with their next release.  NIH has also confirmed for us that the correct instructions are those included in NOT-OD-15-073, posted February 26, 2015. 

 

IMPORTANT:  The validations for handling NIH subawards with inactive budget periods are correct in Cayuse 424.
