Getting Started with SAS 9.3 Statistical Software

March 19-23, 2012

The UCI Institute for Clinical & Translational Science is offering UCI
Researchers a short course Getting Started with SAS 9.3. This week-long
course will be held each day from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. beginning on
Monday, March 19 and continuing through Friday, March 23, 2012.

Course Description: This course provides an introduction to the basic
elements of SAS version 9.3, enabling participants to begin using this
program package for data entry, data management, and statistical
analysis. Each participant will receive a set of course notes and a
brief primer that provides general ideas about how the software system
is organized as well as many tips for using SAS 9.3. Click on the

Participants are required to bring their own laptops with SAS 9.3
installed.

Obtaining SAS Software: The UCI affiliates cost for SAS 9.3 is $55 when
purchased from the UCI Office of Information Technology (OIT). The
software can be purchased and downloaded via the following link:

Please note: SAS runs in Windows only. While SAS will not run in the Mac
OS X operating system, it will run on a Mac using Windows via Boot Camp.
Please contact OIT with any questions about running Windows on a
Macintosh computer.

Registration Fee: The registration fee for all UCI affiliates,
including faculty, staff and students is $350.
Off campus registrants are welcome, if room permits, for a fee of $450.

Registration Deadline: Monday March 5, 2012

Registration Cancellation Policy: Because of the costs of the textbook
and notebooks and the short time frame to prepare and purchase these
course materials, we cannot refund any fees, nor any portion thereof
after the March 5th registration deadline.

Location: The course will be held in the Telemedicine Theater (B001)
located in the Medical Education Building (831).

Again, the registration deadline for the course is Monday, March 5,
2012.
