UPDATE: KR PD Abstract Field

Dear Colleagues:

It has come to our attention that the validation error for the required Abstract text is applied to ALL proposals. That is, all proposals currently in progress and in workflow. When an Approver attempts to Approve the proposal that was routed prior to the deployment, they will encounter the validation error for the Abstract field – preventing them from taking action.

Proposal Initiators: If you currently have a KR PD in workflow (excluding SPA’s queue), you can proactively *Recall* the proposal to add the Abstract and re-route. SPA will return proposals to you that are in their queue so please do not recall proposals that are pending SPA approval.

Proposal Approvers (excluding SPA): If you are encountering the validation error for a proposal you are attempting to approve, you can *Return* the proposal to the Initiator who can add the Abstract and re-route.

Dear Colleagues,

This message has been sent through multiple listservs – but please forward to your colleagues/faculty as needed.

Kuali Research (KR) will be down tonight 7PM thru 8PM for the monthly deploy.

With this deploy, a new Abstract field will be added to Proposal Development. This field is for internal use only and intended to help UCI leadership identify interdisciplinary research opportunities, match researchers with funding prospects, and connect researchers with potential extramural sponsors.

Please see the attached email announcement that was sent out last night detailing this new required field.

Be sure to save your work and exit out of the system prior to the downtime.
