Effective April 4, 2022, the federal government stopped using the DUNS Number to uniquely identify entities. A new “Unique Entity Identifier (UEI)” is now mandatory and replaces the current DUNS Number used to identify and validate federal contractors.

UCI’s Response to the New Federal Requirement:

For all outgoing subawards (e.g. UCI is the pass-through entity issuing the subawards), we will require all our subrecipients to provide a UEI in lieu of the DUNS, effective immediately. UCI’s internal subaward form (Subrecipient Statement of Collaborative Intent (SSCI)) has been revised accordingly to collect UEI information. When obtaining subaward documentation, please use the revised SSCI attached or download the form on our website under Applications & Forms or under Subawards for the latest version.

For your reference, UEI is now a new field on page 3 of the (revised) SSCI Form.
