NSF Project Report Pilot Starting Today!

Dear UCI Principal Investigators and Contract and Grant Administrators:

On November 6, 2012, we informed you that UC Irvine would participate in
the National Science Foundation’s (“NSF”) Phase II pilot of the project
reporting capability in Research.gov effective December 3, 2012 (today).
We are pleased to report that Research.gov’s project reporting
capability is now available for your use.

What Does This Mean?

* Principal Investigators (PIs) will use Research.gov to view
reporting requirements and create/submit annual, final, and interim
project reports to NSF.

* PIs who attempt to access project reports from FastLane will
be redirected to Research.gov.

* PIs will now see Project Outcomes Reports in their Project
Report Dashboard on Research.gov along with annual, final, and interim
project reports.

* Contract and Grant Officers will be able to search for and
view reports through Research.gov or FastLane.

* NSF has extended the due and overdue dates on project reports
originally due during this timeframe to help with the transition.

The pilot will run from October 2012 to January 2013, followed by a full
rollout for all NSF grantees in 2013.
