NIH Pilot for use of Research Performance Progress Report (RPPR) for Non-SNAP awards

Dear Colleagues,

NIH is currently conducting a pilot program with Federal Demonstration Partnership (FDP) member institutions for use of the Research Performance Progress Report (RPPR) for non-SNAP awards. The pilot began in November, 2013 and will run for one year.  The RPPR replaces the 2590 progress report form. Use of the eRA RPPR Module for non-SNAP awards during the pilot period is strongly encouraged as it will be required for use in October, 2014.

Please note that PI’s that have been delegated authority to submit RPPR reports will not be able to submit non-SNAP RPPR reports. Non-SNAP RPPR’s must be routed to a Contract and Grant Officer for submission.

Some examples of NIH activity codes that are not under SNAP:

·         U01: Research Project –Cooperative Agreement

·         P01: Research Program Projects

·         P30: Center Core Grants

For more information see NIH Instructions for RPPR reports for non-SNAP Awards within the NIH Research Performance Progress Report (RPPR) Instruction Guide. Additional information and resources on the RPPR can be found on the eRA Commons page.
