Today is National Research Administrator Day.
We celebrate today the many contributions you make to enable research at UCI. Each one of you plays a critical role in one or more aspects of what it takes to conduct research. As you know, the research enterprise is complex and ranges from generating new ideas, identifying funding sources, writing proposals, award negotiations, accounts, conduct of research by faculty, students, and staff, reporting, compliance, supporting infrastructures, animal care, human subjects, and so on.
Please know how I much I appreciate what you do on a daily basis to make UCI a world-class research university. More than ever, our world needs research breakthroughs. Quality of life for our children and grandchildren depends on solving myriad societal challenges. We can see these challenges in our daily life: COVID-19, forest fires, good jobs, clean air and water, healthy food, …
You are making a difference!!
Enjoy your weekend.
Best wishes,
Pramod
