eRA Information: In Case of System Errors, Please Refrain From Submitting Again

Wednesday, October 22, 2014

eRA has been experiencing some intermittent system issues when processing application submissions. We are proactively catching and reprocessing applications that are receiving system errors, whenever possible, within an hour of their submission. If you receive a system error, please refrain from submitting the application again. We will reprocess it. But please be sure to contact the helpdesk if you have any concerns, or if you fear the delay will result in a late submission.

Reprocessing applications may result in additional automated email communications from eRA. Be sure to attend to any message with the subject line that prompts “Action is required to complete your application submission – application errors and warnings” or “Action required to complete submission – Missing or invalid eRA Commons username”.

Remember, NIH has processes in place to protect applicants who experience confirmed problems with Federal systems that are beyond their control. If a system issue threatens the on-time submission of your application, it is imperative that you follow our Guidelines for Applicants Experiencing System Issues to ensure your submission receives appropriate consideration. This process includes contacting the eRA Commons Help Desk by the due date to report your issue and document your good-faith effort to submit on time. Once we confirm that a system issue exists, the eRA help desk will work with you to determine the best path forward.

Thank you for your patience. We are working to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.
