Thanks to everyone who has attended the office hours on the new Federal Funding Proposal Review. They have been very helpful and informative. We are planning on holding additional office hours after the August 1st launch to continue providing support and gathering information.
Some updates:
- Clarification about what is meant by “consultant” in the question 2:
- Consultant: For the purposes of these questions, “consultant” broadly refers to an individual that provided or provides any service to a foreign entity, whether unpaid or paid, whether or not there is an agreement for the service performed. Disclose these activities unless specifically excluded by the federal sponsor (see Federal Sponsor Disclosure Requirements).
- The above definition has been added to the website and an updated version of the Questions Reference for PIs and Senior/Key Personnel, https://research.uci.edu/wp-content/uploads/Senior-Key-Personnel-Certification-Question-Reference.docx.
- Confirmation from OR leadership that if there are any concerns about meeting a federal or federal flow-through proposal deadline due to this new process, please contact your Contracts & Grants Officer. OR will work with the study team to resolve the issue on a case by case basis.
Thanks again for all the support as you encourage your faculty to update their biosketches, other/current & pending support, and draft their responses to the new KR PD questions based on the reference sheet.
