10/10/25:  Government shutdown will extend into next week as Senate adjourns without breaking stalemate (CBS News) The Senate will not hold any further votes on the dueling Democratic and Republican funding bills this week. The continued impasse in the Senate extends the shutdown until at least next week, when the upper chamber is expected to return on Tuesday at 3 p.m. …The lower chamber has not been in session since Sept. 19, when it passed the Republican funding measure. 10/5/25:  Animal welfare is now part of RFK Jr.’s MAHA agenda (Politico) The health secretary has asked his agencies to refine high-tech methods of testing chemicals and drugs that don’t involve killing animals. He thinks phasing out animal testing and using the new methods will help figure out what’s causing chronic disease.
