DocuSign Approved for Form 700Us- Full Implementation by March 1st.

The California Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) recently approved the use of certain electronic signatures on the Form 700U and DocuSign meets their criteria.

For almost two years, we temporarily accepted all forms of signatures on the Form 700U due to the significant impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.  As our campus made strides in resuming its operations and adjusting to the pandemic, this FPPC change will facilitate an easier transition back to full FPPC compliance.

Starting January 24th, the only electronic signature accepted on the Form 700U is through DocuSign when signed through the Principal Investigator’s (signer’s) official UCI email account, as required by the FPPC.  To allow for adjustment and department implementation, we will continue to accept electronic copies of hand-written signed Form 700U for conflict of interest processing with the expectation that the original, wet-ink signed form will be forwarded to “Office of Research, Zot Code: 7600” until March 1, 2022

Starting March 1, 2022, all Form 700Us must be signed through DocuSign (accessed through the Principal Investigator’s official UCI email account).

The sponsored research agreements, clinical trials, and gift procedures for collecting the Form 700U remain the same.
