OMB Uniform Guidance Announcement
3 Forums Scheduled to Present Information on UCI’s Adoption of Uniform Guidance
UCI Faculty and Staff:
This is an important announcement regarding new federal requirements that will take effect on December 26, 2014. The Uniform Guidance (2CFR200) will replace the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) circulars (OMB A-21, A-110 and A-133) governing Federal Assistance Awards (Grants and Cooperative Agreements), including those for Research or Training. While the Uniform Guidance incorporates many of the policy requirements from the OMB Circulars applicable to institutions of higher education, they also include significant policy changes in several key areas such as Cost Sharing, Administrative and Clerical Salaries, Computing Devices, Participant Support Costs, Subawards and Subrecipient Monitoring and Application of F&A Rates to Certain Direct Costs.
Three forums have been scheduled for next week to present the significant changes, including what PI’s need to know and highlights of the potential impact on Research Administration in general. We hope you will plan to attend.
Each session will include a presentation and an opportunity to ask questions.
