To mark the 70th anniversary of the International Council for Laboratory Animal Science, the National Academies’ Roundtable on Science and Welfare of Animals Involved in Research is hosting a global webinar series to identify and discuss the convergence of animal welfare, technology, facility and workforce realities, and operational standards and expectations.
The April 17 session will be a question-driven conversation about where laboratory animal science may be headed, and why. Discussion topics will include advances in genetics and model development, animal welfare and ethics, technological innovation, sustainability and facility realities, workforce challenges, and global alignment of standards and expectations. Participants can respond to polls, share perspectives, and help identify priorities for future sessions in the series.
