Pivot Workshop for MSOs & Administrators

UCI’s Office of Research Development is inviting MSOs, OSAM members and C&G administrators to a hands-on training session introducing the campus’s new Community of Science (COS) Pivot funding search tool.  Pivot provides an intuitive and robust database that UCI staff and faculty can use to:

·                 easily search for funding opportunities,

·                 set weekly email alerts of funding opportunities in focused areas of interest to individuals and groups,

·                 and search for potential collaborators.

Pivot will provide an invaluable method for MSOs and administrators to help faculty members in their departments search for funding.  For those departments where administrators do not take an active role in funding searches, we hope that by providing this training it will be easier for admins to support their faculty in the basic use of the tool.

Beth Riley, from Research Development, will host the training session in the AIRB computer lab which will enable attendees to try out Pivot’s features first-hand.  Three dates are available for the trainings.
