We are pleased to announce Jeff Warner Appointed as Senior Director for Sponsored Projects Administration the appointment of Jeff Warner as the new Senior Director for Sponsored Projects Administration. Jeff brings a wealth of experience and expertise in research policy analysis, contract and grant negotiation, and leadership in research administration.
Jeff Warner embarked on his research administration career as a Contract and Grant Officer at UC Irvine. He brings an extensive background in managing and directing research administrator teams, developing and implementing guidelines for compliance and audit issues, leveraging data analytics and technology to support the award lifecycle, and negotiating complex contracts and agreements. His career highlights include:
· Manager, Award Team at the University of California San Francisco, where he ensured consistent application of contract and grant policy and directed award team operations.
· Director, Contracts Office at the University of Central Florida, where he provided leadership and direction in the development of research contracts and agreements.
· Director, Ancillary Research Agreements at the University of California San Diego, where he contributed to strategic planning and managed contract officers responsible for various agreement types.
Jeff holds a Master of Advanced Study in Criminology, Law & Society from the University of California Irvine and a B.A. in Political Science from San Diego State University. He also passed the Certified Research Administrator exam and completed several leadership development programs, including Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt and the UC Management Development Program.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Jeff has co-authored several publications on research administration and negotiation strategies.
