eRA Alert: Deadlines Extended for Funding Opportunities This Week

Due to the continued issue with the central NIH log-in, eRA Commons
remains unavailable.
The eRA technical team continues to work closely with other NIH teams to
bring resolution to this problem. Additionally, the teams are
considering alternative options to make the system available tomorrow in
the unlikely event the issue is not resolved before then.
To accommodate applicants who were unable to track their applications in
the eRA Commons and view their assembled application image or list of
electronic submission errors and warnings due to the unavailability of
the system, submission deadlines for the following FOAs due today and
tomorrow will be extended to Wednesday, November 23, 2011.

Submission deadlines scheduled for today (November 21) and tomorrow
(November 22) will be extended to Wednesday, November 23. This change is
being made to accommodate applicants that were unable to track their
applications in the eRA Commons and view their assembled application
image or list of electronic submission errors and warnings due to the
unavailability of the eRA Commons system today. Please check the NIH
Guide Notice NOT-OD-12-016.
The two day application viewing window for submissions made last
Thursday will be adjusted to ensure that applicants have at least two
full business days to view the assembled application image in Commons.
Window of Consideration for Late Applications
The two-week window of consideration for late applications (Notice
OD-11-035) for the November 5 R01 deadline that expires today, November
21, will be handled on a case-by-case basis.

The issue with the central NIH Log-in system has yet to be resolved.
Users may experience the following symptoms when attempting to log in:
1. Invalid credentials error message
2. Page not found error message, or
3. If the user has remained logged from the time the issue began,
they will see very slow responses and possible time outs.
The eRA technical team is working closely with other NIH teams to assist
with resolution and we will provide you with further updates as they
become available.
We appreciate your patience while we work to resolve the issue.
