Contracts & Grants Accounting Contracts & Grants Fund Accounting Series Contracts and Grants Accounting offers several classes that focus on fund accounting processes for sponsored projects. These classes are geared toward individuals that are relatively new to managing contract or grant award funds in a university setting but may also be helpful to all those that would like to refresh their knowledge of the current Federal regulations and research administration processes at UCI. Enroll in all of these courses via the UC Learning Center (UCLC). Search for “CGS.” · COURSE #1 (CGS 1) Introduction to Fund Management The first course in the Contracts and Grants Fund Accounting Series presents policies, practices and requirements related to fund management. Topics include: understanding the purpose of fund accounting, award terms and conditions, and important Federal and University policies. · COURSE #2 (CGS 2) Direct vs. F&A Location: Zoom link will be emailed to registered attendees This course is designed to help contract and grant fund managers understand and identify the difference between direct and facilities and administrative (F&A/indirect) costs. Topics include: the difference between direct and F&A costs, criteria for assigning costs and applicable credits, special circumstances and sponsor approval, and unallowable costs. · COURSE #3 (CGS 3) General Error Correction (GEC)/Cost Transfers · COURSE #4 (CGS 4) Payroll Certification · COURSE #5 (CGS 5) Cost Sharing · COURSE #6 (CGS 6) Ledger Reading and Award Closeout Register on UC Learning Center Registration is required to attend and must be done through UC Learning Center (UCLC).
